Project Status Definitions
Note that we are still in the process of identifying criteria for escalating a project and the below is a strawperson to give an idea of our current thinking. Input from the community on this process is very welcome, contact info@oscelot.org with suggestions.
Incubator:
Projects which are just getting started, in the design phase, waiting for a developer team. Also in this category are projects which have fairly complete code, are relatively stable, and are ready for feedback from a broader community, but are still in the relatively early phases of development. Not intended for production systems.
Provisional:
Projects which have complete and stable code, and are ready for feedback from a broader community, have active development, and are putting together a support network. Not intended for production systems, but should be acceptable to early adopters.
Community:
Projects which have complete code, are stable, and currently running on production systems in the community. The project has multiple developers and an established support network. Intended for production systems.
